We need this rather conventional and traditional part in order to have everyone rotate on a common basis for the understanding if the basic political issues in Northern Ireland.

At the end of the lesson, you should be able to answer the following questions, and explain your research topics to your fellow students. The ressources you use are  videos, and text.

- Explain difference between parliament and government, how it is made up.
- Explain the difference between the House of Commons and House of Lords.
- What is the Role of parliament?
- How are laws created?
- What is an MP and what is its role?

If time is left, find information on the following topics, after having the class divided into groups:
What were the Suffragettes? Who was Guy Fawkes?
